We’ve been fans of Lucy Rose for quite some time now. Her emotion rich lyrics and gorgeous tone captured our hearts, and we’ve never looked back.
We recently found out that Lucy was crossing the Atlantic to embark on a North American tour. While she’s been here before, she’s never been here as a headliner. Until now. With this tour already underway, we shot over a few select questions to get a little bit of insight into the tour.
TMN: Hi Lucy! Thank you so much for taking some time to have a virtual sit down with us today. Let’s start off by talking about how this tour came to be. This is your second time touring the states, but your first time as a headliner. What are you most looking forward to?
LR: Having the band with me so we can play the songs how they should be heard.
TMN: Having been to the states before, what was your favorite city?
LR: Albany NY, just because I’d never heard of it before and we were lucky enough to spend a day off there. Went into the local record shop and the guy that owned the shop bought five of my CD’s to help me out. First time that’s ever happened and then we all went out together to a gig to see an awesome band called Fancy Tramp. Really cool city.
TMN: And looking ahead to this tour in particular, is there any city that you’re really looking forward to playing for?
LR: We’re going to a lot of places that I’ve never been to before, so I’m looking forward to so many places. I’ve heard Nashville is pretty awesome and that’swere my label Thirty Tigers are based so I can’t wait for that.
TMN: We know you have a lot of planning to do for this trip, and it must be stressful.Do you have any routines you go through when touring to make sure you have everything buttoned up?
LR: Luckily for me my tour manager does all the organizing so I have one less thing to worry about, then the main thing is passport, never forget your passport.
TMN: What are three things you can’t live without when you’re on the road?
LR: Steam inhaler, music, guitar.
TMN: Alright, let’s ask a few silly questions, just for fu. When you’re in America, the one thing you have to eat is…
LR: Chilli dog from Ben’s Chilli Bowl in Washington DC.
TMN: If you could spend a day or two of vacation in any of your tour stops, which city would you most like to vacation in?
LR: Las Vegas and it’s happening!
TMN: Name the one thing you miss most about home when you’re on the road.
LR: A good cup of tea.
TMN: If you were going to bring home a souvenir from America for your best friend, what would it be?
LR: Basketball shirt.
Ok, that’s all we have for you, for now at least. We can’t wait to talk about your music when you get to Denver. Safe travels!!
