Jasmine (Paper Diamond Edit)
We’re absolutely ecstatic to premiere one of our longtime favorite TMN regulars Paper Diamond with an atypical, funky and insanely groovy remix of Jai Paul‘s ultra sexy R&B track “Jasmine”. Paper Diamond has made quite the renowned name for himself through a forward thinking approach to bass fueled dance music with glints of trap, electro and a healthy dose of hip-hip influences; being championed by everyone from Pretty Lights to Jay-Z in the process, so it was lovely to see such precise production translate into the reveal of another piece of the puzzle entirely. The groove on Paper Diamond’s edit of “Jasmine” keeps the twangy lead guitar riff pretty much intact minus a little dose of hazy reverb, and eschews those two-step melodies we’ve been more accustomed to in favor of a four-to-the-floor kick which makes the whole tune feel more directed at the house heads rather than a bass heavy fusion of wonky sounds. This “Jasmine” edit is simply an alluring track that we have been falling head over heels for.
As the Paper Diamond project wraps up a North American tour, Cold Crush, he’s also announced the rather impressive news of an 8 month residency at Las Vegas’ Wynn properties which includes superclubs XS, Tryst, Surrender, and Encore Beach Club, hopefully signaling the arrival of non-traditional EDM artists making their move to what has continually been referred to as “The New Ibiza”.
