You gotta love new music Tuesday. There’s been a ton of great music that came out today, and this release from emerging EDM star MORTEN (Morten Breum) is amongst one of our favorites. His latest tune, titled “Look Closer”, was featured on the recently launched PRMD music, headed up by Ash Pournari. That’s a name you’ve probably heard before, as he’s the founder of AT Night Management, and the manager strategist of stars like Avicii and Cazzette. With an ear like that, it’s no wonder he started a label.
Any time Ash takes notice of an artist, it’s not hard to understand why. Not that MORTEN is any stranger to the spotlight, being one of Denmark’s most celebrated artists. “Look Closer” in particular has that club vibe that’s easy to develop an affinity to. The melodic piano work, the energetic driving synths, and big room bassline all add depth to this progressive vocal house tune. In fact, the selection of Miami for a video was absolutely spot on. Something about this tune just brings us back to the palm trees, bright lights, and hundreds of thousands of smiling faces at Ultra. This track embodies that feeling more than anything we’ve heard in a while.
