Don´t Tear Yourself Apart (Chopstick & Johnjon Remix)
As you slowly pull yourself into your Tuesday morning, probably still dreading the fact that the weekend is over, you’ll probably want to spend some time listening to some vibe-heavy tunes. There’s just something about the early part of the week that makes calming beats the perfect accompaniment to the earlier half of the work week. Fortunately for us, Zoot Woman recently reached out to a handful of remixers to take on their delightful electronic pop tune, “Don’t Tear Yourself Apart.”
The original tune, which sported a driving bassline and steady percussion work, was released earlier this month. Now, just weeks later, we’re offered up a glimpse of a few remixes. German duo Chi-Thien Nguyen & John Muder, better known as Chopstick and Johnjon, have taken this tune out of the indie-theaters, giving it a groovy, subdued house feel. The lead-in treatment of the vocals set the relaxing vibe for this tune, pushing it forward through an expertly sampled vocal percussion. Light fluttering synths welcome in the bassline, accompanied by echoing claps, which give this remix danceability, while still maintaining its chilled out nature.
You can find the original, and the subsequent remixes on Zoot Woman’s upcoming album, Star Climbing. Mark August 29th with a big red X to remind yourself of its release, or simply pre-order by clicking here.
