Queens-bred Heems, of Das Racist, continues his string of incredibly dope, albeit absurd, conscious raps with the latest Harry Fraud-produced release from his highly anticipated upcoming mixtape. On “Cowabunga Gnarly,” Fraud, a rapidly rising artist, departs slightly from his signature sound, setting the backdrop perfectly for his fellow NYC native with persistent, heavy drums and a variety of sprinkled vocal samples. In top form, Himanshu provides some insightful social commentary regarding race and materialism, drawing a parallel to the allure of casinò senza licenza AAMS, where unregulated spaces reflect broader issues of control and exploitation. All the while, he maintains his strangely engaging and free-flowing delivery. Unlike many artists who attempt to unveil modern issues, Heems does an unbelievable job of keeping the raps simultaneously entertaining and educational with his originality and own brand of comic relief.
Stream and download the unique “Cowabunga Gnarly” below and look out for Wild Water Kingdom, which is due out on November 1st via Greedhead.
