[Hip-Hop] Bipolar Sunshine & Jazz Purple – Aesthetics 1.0 (Mixtape)

The multi-talented vocalist Bipolar Sunshine initially caught our attention last year with a number of smooth releases finding the perfect intersection of R&B, hip-hop and electronic music. In preparation for what promises to be a breakout year, Bipolar Sunshine has teamed up with Jazz Purple, the producer behind the majority of his solo work, for a mixtape to hold fans over. The project, released on their Manchester-based label Aesthetics Sounds, features an incredible range of sounds melding elements of future electronic music with hip-hop, R&B and a broad range of cross-genre influences. As you listen, you’ll likely recognize unlikely, masterfully-spun tributes to and samples of Gary Jules‘s “Mad World” and Coldplay‘s “Fix You” among others. Aesthetics 1.0 proves a fascinating, engaging listen that’ll keep you intrigued from start to finish and is a great sign for what’s to come. Give the full project a listen below and keep an eye out for Bipolar Sunshine’s upcoming single, “Daydreamer,” due out on February 8th.

Bipolar Sunshine – Deck Chairs On The Moon (Elderbrook Remix)

Bipolar Sunshine
Deck Chairs On The Moon (Elderbrook Remix)

Bipolar Sunshine has made a big splash in the blog world this year and that will continue to grow going forward. He’s on a completely different wavelength creatively, and his music will continue to be a refreshing take on pop music as the industry becomes more and more saturated. While there’s so many male vocalists on our airwaves recently, there’s only one Elderbrook. The UK producer is relatively unheard of in most circles, however Annie Mac got her hands on his rendition of Bipolar Sunshine’s “Deck Chairs On The Moon” and now the heads are starting to turn. It’s as beautiful as it is haunting, which is surprisingly a combination made in heaven. What he was able to accomplish on this remix is nothing short of incredible and you best believe we will keep serious tabs on him in the future.

[Dream Pop] Bipolar Sunshine – Where Did The Love Go

Bipolar Sunshine
Where Did The Love Go

Just call this a modern day love song,
Bipolar Sunshine, or as his friends call him Adio Marchant, released his new single “Where Did The Love Go” while putting the finishing touches on his debut record, releasing later this year. The song cannot be put into one genre and that is how Sunshine wants it. He has a little bit of pop, a little bit of soul, and a little splash of electronic in his work. Sunshine sings of the very known story of a girl whose heart was broken by a previous lover and all he’s asking for is a chance at her heart. The song has a laid back feel, and brings some sun to these cloudy winter days we are all having. Keep an eye out for Sunshine’s record because if it’s anything like his EP Drowning Butterflies, and this new single, it will bring some sunshine to your days.
