[Hip-Hop] Ghostface Killah & BADBADNOTGOOD – Six Degrees (Feat. Danny Brown)

Ghostface Killah & BADBADNOTGOOD
SIX DEGREES Ft. Danny Brown

After dropping their EP III earlier this month, Canadian trio BADBADNOTGOOD have teamed up with the legendary Ghostface Killah and Detroit’s Danny Brown to bring us a bone-chilling new single. Spitting vicious bars over an unnervingly eerie instrumental, both emcees ensure that you’ll want to maintain all “Six Degrees” of separation from them. Ghostface’s cold, calculated flow serves as a perfect contrast to Danny’s unruly attitude, yet neither emcee sounds out of place on the haunting number.

Check out the single above, and make sure to pre-order yourself a copy before it drops on June 23rd.

[Stream] Flume – Flume (Deluxe Edition Mixtape)

Flume
Space Cadet feat. Ghostface Killah & Autre Ne Veut

With the deluxe edition of Flume‘s debut album set to drop next week, we get the privilege of hearing the accompanying rap mixtape in its entirety in advance of its release. The Australian DJ brings his A-game here, recruiting such names as Ghostface Killah, Killer MikeTwin Shadow, M.O.P., and Autre Ne Veut, among others. This is definitely more than just a side project for the young producer, and it certainly shows in the quality of material presented in the project. Some of our favorites include “Insane (Feat. Killer Mike & Moon Holiday)” and “Sleepless (Feat. Twin Shadow & Jezzabell Doran),” but all the tracks are pretty excellent. Check out the stream at the link below, as well as the full tracklist for the upcoming tape. The deluxe re-release of Flume’ s debut album will be available digitally on November 12th.

[Hip-Hop] Wu-Tang Clan – Six Directions of Boxing

As we’ve noted in some of our previous posts, The Man With The Iron Fists is not only on pace to be the best original soundtrack of the year, but the argument can also be made that it’s in contention to be one of the top albums of the year as well. On the latest leak from the project, RZA manages to reassemble the full Wu-Tang Clan minus only a few members. It’s almost like the 90’s never left on this low-key, funky trip with U-God, Ghostface Killah, GZA, Masta Killa, Cappadonna, and Inspectah Deck all stepping into the ring to sock you in the face from multiple directions with their fiery fists of fury (hence the name of the song). I wouldn’t call it a comeback for the Wu just yet, but it’s definitely a start. Hopefully this leads to even more collaborations in the future, and maybe even a 20 year reunion project once 2013 rolls around.  The idea’s not that farfetched is it?

[Hip/Hop] Ghostface Killah – Getha Baby

Ghostface Killah is never out of the spotlight for long; critically acclaimed return Apollo Kids dropped on December 21st, and with Blue & Cream on the near horizon, the legend is on a roll. They don’t hand out those plaques easily, you know.

Some stans have had Killah on rails for years, churning out record after record on autopilot. Still, Killah at 40% wizardry is more than enough game for the majority of our current “talent”, as his latest single shows.

Lead single “2Getha Baby” blows up in your face over the straightest old school tactics, in a return the classic Wu-Tang sound. A diced soul sample from “Together” by The Intruders plays up and over the main verses, which pack a dirty punch:

“You front on me tonight I’ma bag me a new hoe/Spank that ass like a real papichulo/Picture me Neutron I sit you right on your culo”

Certified fresh. And he’s not even trying, right?
