16 year-old newcomer Lorde gets the remix treatment for her latest single “Royals”. Flipping the New Zealand singer’s indie-pop track, producer RAAK adds some subtle synth beats and a new melody. Jumping on the track with a complimentary feature is the freshly signed Epic Records artist Gilbere Forte. The PA rapper makes the track his own with a dope verse that transitions well into the newly flipped beat. The catchy single is available now and quickly climbing the iTunes charts. After dropping his acclaimed mixtape PRAY, Forte is also currently touring and working on his as-yet-untitled Anigma/Epic Records full length debut.

Gilbere Forté first made waves a few years back when he appeared on the remix of “Alors on Danse” alongside Stromae and Kanye West. Fresh off the release of his debut mixtape at the time, 87 Dreams, the Philly native parlayed his newfound stardom to obtain guest appearances on remixes of tracks like “Up All Night” by Alex Clare and Florence + The Machine‘s “Dog Days Are Over.” In 2013, Forté is ready to launch his star to new heights with his most anticipated mixtape yet, PRAY.

Although the first single dropped late last year, Forté’s been on a promotional tear lately, releasing singles left and right in preparation for his new project. With his third effort, the recent EPIC Records signee proves his sound has definitely matured over the last three years. Alongside producer RAAK, Forté is able to craft bass rattling bangers with crossover appeal that are both fresh and empowering. At only ten tracks, the mixtape may seem a bit short at first, but that really means that Gilbere decided to provide us with only the highest quality material to work with. Detroit singer/songwriter/producer JMSN recruits dope emcees Gilbere Forte, ANTHM, and Deniro Farrar to remix his †Priscilla† track “Somewhere”. The mesmorizing and almost trance like cut is far from the typical underground mix but more of a Weeknd-esque deep single. Each emcee brings their own unique style to the song, but NC native rapper Denriro Farrar really takes on the eeire mood as he spits a dark yet smooth 16 bar rap towards the end. Coupled with the ghost vocals from JMSN and the haunting melody, this tale about relationship pains and woes is equally creepy as it is addicting.
