Capping off the biggest year of his career, The Weeknd decided to play the part of Santa Clause tonight and drop off a few Christmas gifts for all his loyal fans in the form of two new singles. The first track, “Low Life”, finds the Canadian crooner teaming up with Future, who’s had a pretty memorable year all his own, while the second is a remix of Jeremih‘s “Pass Dat” off his most recent project, Late Nights: The Album. Both tunes fit right in Abel’s wheelhouse, as his vocals sound right at home on the hazy, trapped out instrumental provided by Metro Boomin on “Low Life”. On the other hand, we couldn’t have asked for a more natural fit for a remix of Jeremih’s laidback stoner anthem. Stream both tracks above and stay tuned for more from The Weeknd as we head into 2016.
[NEW] The Weeknd – Low Life (Feat. Future) + Pass Dat (Remix) (Feat. Jeremih)
[NEW] Jeremih & Shlohmo – No More (EP)
After announcing the project late last year, Jeremih & Shlohmo took to the net today to finally drop their highly anticipated EP, titled No More. Although initially slated for release back in February, some issues between WeDidIt and Def Jam prevented the album from seeing the light of day, leaving its status in limbo (and perhaps inspiring the above artwork). With the label problems still left unresolved, the two decided to take matters into their own hands, releasing the entire EP for free in honor of Jeremih’s birthday.
Since first teaming up for the single “Bo Peep (Do U Right)” as part of Yours Truly + Adidas Songs From Scratch series last year, the pair have been a perfect match, with Jeremih’s smooth, enticing vocals melding beautifully with Shlohmo’s hazy, lo-fi electronic production. The duo bring back many of those same elements on this EP, which features previous singles like “Bo Peep,” “No More,” and an extended version of “Fuck You All the Time (Remix),” as well as fresh new material that even includes a brand new track with fellow Chicagoan, Chance The Rapper. Although short at only six tracks in length, the project does a great job of keeping things interesting, with each song sounding fresh and unique enough to stand out on its own, while still coming together to form a cohesive whole that seems like it was thoughtfully placed together. After a few listens, this is already one of our favorite projects of the summer, and a guaranteed must download.

Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 20]
Hello ninjas, and welcome to Sunday Night Soul Volume 20. We embarked on this journey exactly 5 months ago with the goal of finding only the best tunes the internet had to offer. What started off as a fairly modest effort, has now grown substantially to the monstrosity you see here (and we mean “monstrosity” in the most loving way possible). We’re proud to see how the field has expanded to include various different soundscapes, increasingly pushing the genre to new limits. It’s an exciting time for R&B music, and we’re pleased to be to sitting right here in the front row, watching it evolve right before our eyes.Of course, you can hear that growth for yourself below.
This week’s collection includes multiple doubles. By doubles we mean you’ll be seeing more than a few names repeated multiple times throughout. Whether it’s through remixes or features, what it indicates is that plenty of your favorites were incredibly busy this week. Standouts come by way of Zuper, Dpat & Atu, SZA, White Lights, Bipolar Sunshine, Gallant, Z.Woods, Mila J, Rush Davis, Muzi, Ta-Ku, Fei-Fei, subdaio, elkco, Lido, ForteBowie, TOKiMONSTA, Figgy and Dolphin Tears. That might seem like a substantially long list already, but that’s just scratching the surface of what tonight’s pallet has to offer.

Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 16]
Good evening ninjas. It’s the first weekend of March, which means spring is right around the corner (although the snow outside my window would seem to indicate otherwise). Tonight also happens to be Oscars night, and since your favorite movie/actor/composer didn’t win that award you so desperately wanted them to (sorry again, Leo. There’s always next time), you’ll have to begin the healing/venting process somewhere (probably through Twitter). Well, we’ve got the soundtrack for both transitions right here, with another excellent edition of Sunday Night Soul. This week’s lineup features some incredibly beautiful numbers from a multitude of talented artists. I know we say that just about every time, but efforts from Owl Eyes, Gabriel Garzón Montano, Sunni Colón, abhi//dijon, Olsen, Chiara, Saint Pepsi, Olivia Louise, Gene Noble, Black Atlass, kuma, Beshken and Giraffage really struck a chord with us this week. Of course those weren’t the only ones we liked, so we’d suggest digging through immediately to figure out what your favorites are–trust us, it’s tougher than it sounds.

Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 15]
Sunday is finally upon us, and while that signals the end of yet another (hopefully productive) weekend, at least we have some glorious soul to help make the transition a little bit easier. February is nearly over, and considering that it’s one of the more passionate months of the year, we’ve had plenty of content to work with over the last few weeks. This week’s lineup is no different, as it’s packed with stellar offerings from the likes of Chloe Martini, Matt Miller, Joe Kay, Mar, Estelle, Abrina, LIZ, Hasta, and many many more. Check out the diverse selection below, and let the music take over your soul.
Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 14]
Last week may have been our Valentine’s edition of Sunday Night Soul, but this week’s lineup features many of the singles crafted specifically with the special holiday in mind. Given that information, it’s no surprise that this week saw some major releases from many of the most exalted players in R&B. We’ve got an All-Star lineup prepared for you tonight (ironic considering the NBA All-Star Game just ended), featuring such lofty names as Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Omarion, Ne-Yo, Mya and JoJo (the latter three also happened to drop some spectacular Valentine’s EPs as well). Of course they weren’t the only ones feeling the love this busy week, as we have a loaded collection of gorgeous tunes from a slew of talented artists like Kites, mdnt, Oskar Key Sung, John Michael, RÁJ, Chet Faker, Erik Hassle, Shura, Maths Time Joy, Canid, Jeftuz and Trippy Turtle. Check out all there is to offer below, and if you messed up this Valentine’s Day, use this playlist as your way to patch things up.
