Feeling a little generous this afternoon, Jhené Aiko has dropped off a soulful little gem for all her fans. “Living Room Flow” is typical bedroom fare (even if the locale has been shifted), and has all the elements of a successful baby-maker: it’s sexy, slow-moving and puts the mind at ease. It’s a neat little loosie, from the wonderful songstress, and serves as a nice reminder of what she can bring to the table. We have no idea whether this is attached to any projects, but we’re hoping it’s a sign of something to come. After a breakout year in which she toured the world with Drake, found herself featured on seemingly every top rap album, and culminated with the release of her remarkable Sail Out EP, it seems as if Jhené Aiko is primed to make even bigger moves in 2014. Now, as she gears up for the release of her debut album, Souled Out, it’s time to find out if the 26 year old songstress is ready to handle “The Pressure” associated with her newfound stardom.

Premiered earlier today on Vogue, Jhene’s latest single serves as a stress reliever of sorts, as she vents about some of the issues currently ailing her the best way she knows how–through gorgeous melodies constructed with her confectionery sweet vocals and breezy Fisticuffs production. As always, the writing is completely on point, striking a cool balance of meaningful, candid and relatable lyrics, with the highlight being, “Have you seen my fucks to give? I have none, I cannot live with the pressure.”

I caught myself zoning out more than a couple times in the middle of this write-up, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself getting lost in this one, of course followed by you scrambling to hit the replay button once it’s finished.
