[NEW] The Weeknd – Low Life (Feat. Future) + Pass Dat (Remix) (Feat. Jeremih)

’Low Life – Future + The Weeknd’
’Pass Dat (The Weeknd Remix) – Jeremih + The Weeknd’

Capping off the biggest year of his career, The Weeknd decided to play the part of Santa Clause tonight and drop off a few Christmas gifts for all his loyal fans in the form of two new singles. The first track, “Low Life”, finds the Canadian crooner teaming up with Future, who’s had a pretty memorable year all his own, while the second is a remix of Jeremih‘s “Pass Dat” off his most recent project, Late Nights: The Album. Both tunes fit right in Abel’s wheelhouse, as his vocals sound right at home on the hazy, trapped out instrumental provided by  Metro Boomin on “Low Life”. On the other hand, we couldn’t have asked for a more natural fit for a remix of Jeremih’s laidback stoner anthem. Stream both tracks above and stay tuned for more from The Weeknd as we head into 2016.

[Remixes] The Weeknd – The Hills (Feat. Eminem + Nicki Minaj)

’The Weeknd – The Hills (feat. Eminem) (Remix)’
’The Weeknd – The Hills (feat. Nicki Minaj) (Remix)’

The Weeknd has had a landmark year in 2015 and his current ascension to the pop throne has only been solidified by the fact that he currently sits atop the Billboard Hot 100 with his single, “The Hills”. In case you needed further proof of his current standing though, the Toronto native has landed two major co-signs from Nicki Minaj, and perhaps more unexpectedly, Eminem–both of whom deliver their own renditions of the outrageously catchy tune. Predictably enough, Marshall takes a more vindictive approach, discussing troubled relationships from his past, while Nicki keeps it a bit more raunchy with her version. Both rappers seem to mesh well enough with Abel’s vocals and should ensure that the song holds its position at number one for just a little longer. Stream the tunes above and make sure to purchase the full remix package over at iTunes.

[Indie Dance] The Weeknd – Where You Belong (Shèmce Remix)

The Weeknd
Where You Belong (Shèmce Remix)

The Weeknd is one of those artists who is simply perfect for remixing, and even just trying to think about the number of new renditions of his music out there is staggering. Shifting gears from his sensual R&B livelihood, The Weeknd gets a gritty and groovy makeover courtesy of Shèmce. The whole track is shape shifted and structured for massive replay value, and even with the complete genre flip, the tune retains the expected amount of sexiness that comes with every Weeknd track. Shèmce clearly has no reservations about trying new things, as evident by his choices on the artists he has previously remixed (Betty Who, Ben. E. King, and Adrian Lux), and his transformation of The Weeknd’s “Where You Belong” has seen a good amount of success so far for a reason. Grab the download and kick off your week with a solid tune to warm up to.

[Future] Robokid – Luv Me Harder

ROBOKID
Luv Me Harder

Moving Castle member Robokid just offered up a delightfully delicate track via Nest HQ in the form of a “Love Me Harder” remix. He takes the Ariana Grande and Weeknd tune into the stratosphere by shooting it into hyper speed with pitched up vocals, textbook breaks, and ethereal synths that have become staples within his forward thinking production style. It’s always exciting when a new Moving Castle release is finally available for our anxious eardrums, and Robokid has defined himself as a prominent member of the collective. “Luv Me Harder” sustains his strong push into expanded popularity within the online realm and beyond, which begs the question (concerning his consistent nature): Is he human or is he robot? Either way, we are big fans of what he has accomplished. Snag the free download via ToneDen!

[NEW] The Weeknd – Earned It

The Weeknd
Earned It

I’ll admit, I don’t know much about the Fifty Shades of Grey series, but from what I do understand about it, I can tell you there’s no artist more fitting for the movie’s soundtrack than The Weeknd. Presenting the first single from the upcoming film adaptation, Abel brings us a slinky little ditty that fits in perfectly with the theme of the upcoming motion picture. Appropriately enough, the Canadian crooner aims for a more cinematic sound on this number, relying on mooney piano riffs and heavy strings to set the mood, instead of his typical alternative R&B sound. Despite the departure though, his sleek vocals sound just as sharp on this seductive, spine-tingling new tune. Take a listen to “Earned It” below, and make sure to grab yourself a copy on iTunes.

KISSLAND (YUME Bootleg Edit)

YUME is an absolute enigma. His “Hold My Liquor” remix was one of my favorite tracks of 2013 but he took it off his Soundcloud before we could share it around. He’s been tinkering on and off since and one of his greatest pieces thus far his is interpretation of The Weeknd’s “Kissland”. The Jersey boy brings forth one of the most indescribable, ethereal soundscapes you will ever hear. We are truly at a loss for words with this remix, it is that gorgeous. Here’s hoping Yume sees this and knows he has fans that want him to keep showcasing his music to the world.
