[Hip-Hop] Tyler, The Creator – Look (Feat. Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis & Earl Sweatshirt)

Tyler, The Creator
Look (Feat. Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis & Earl Sweatshirt) (Prod. by Nottz)

Just when you thought it was finally safe, Tyler, The Creator and his Odd Future crew decide to swoop in and make sure you’re taking a second “Look” before you try to cross them. Presumably feeling a little left out of the conversation lately, Tyler teams up with three of his finest running mates–Hodgy Beats, Domo Genesis, and Earl Sweatshirt–to bring us an absolutely nasty banger here . The brand new track features the West Coast emcees trading bars over a dusty Nottz produced instrumental, where each member brings their best cards to the table, making it tough to decide who comes out on top. Instead of debating though, it might just be best to enjoy the single for what it is, and leave the discussion for another day. There’s no indication on where this will end up, but let’s hope that this is the first indication of that EarlWolf album that was hinted at earlier this year.

’Tyler, The Creator – IFHY ft. Pharrell’
’Tyler, The Creator – Jamba ft. Hodgy Beats’

Whenever we get new Odd Future material like this, it makes us pause and wonder what exactly goes through Tyler, The Creator‘s mind. It seems like we say this about almost every new video from the Wolf Gang leader, but this is definitely his most unique piece to date. The visuals for “IFHY” takes place in what could be described as a twisted and demented version of Barbie’s dollhouse. It’s kind of like what you’d expect from Sid from Toy Story, but without all the deformed toy parts.

During the video, we find an emotionally distraught Tyler struggling with his emotions as he chases a clearly distant girlfriend around the house. Before things can finally change for the troubled couple though, a human hand intervenes and ends things on a very sour note. It doesn’t take long for you to get over the momentary depression, as Tyler quickly shifts the mood over with the more upbeat “Jamba” featuring running mate Hodgy Beats. With these 2 releases it looks like Wolf is shaping up to be an impressive sophomore effort. But why wait to find out? You can catch the FULL STREAM of the album on SoundCloud before it hits stores on April 2nd.

[Hip-Hop] Earl Sweatshirt – Whoa (Feat. Tyler, The Creator)

Earl Sweatshirt
Whoa (Feat. Tyler, The Creator)

After dropping the much heralded “Chum” a few months ago, fans have been clamoring for Earl Sweatshirt‘s next release. For many, “Chum” seemed like a maturation in the young emcee’s thought process, as he tackled personal issues and struggles head on. Earl and crew are out to prove nothing’s changed though by dropping this brand new video for “Whoa.” As Tyler, The Creator alludes to in the beginning of the song, they’re out to revive their 2010 vibe, when people were first shocked by the video for “Earl.” This one isn’t quite as extreme, but it’s certainly peculiar.

It begins with Earl waking up in a run down trailer, and then donning a winter coat in nothing but his boxers, before heading outside to watch some 50-some year-old woman pirouetting around in a tutu. Yeah, it’s weird, but nothing out of the ordinary for Odd Future standards. “Whoa” comes with the trademarked laidback, yet sinister sound we’re used to from all Odd Future tracks. Earl shows off that sweet, complex rhyme scheme we’ve come to admire from him, while Tyler takes duties on the chorus. Earl’s upcoming album, Doris, doesn’t have a release date yet, but it’s easily one of the most anticipated projects of the year.

[Free Album] Domo Genesis & The Alchemist – No Idols

Domo Genesis, one of the stonier members of Odd Future, joins forces with veteran producer, The Alchemist, to bring us one of the most anticipated projects of the summer. The Alchemist’s heavy, but smooth, production fits well with the dark raps of the OF crew. With some assists from Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, the Creator, Domo proves his capabilities emerging as a one of the most exciting, up-and-coming lifestyle rappers. [Video] Pusha T ft. Tyler, The Creator – ‘Trouble On My Mind’

Here is the new music video of “Trouble On My Mind”, the new track by the collaborative efforts of Pusha T and Tyler, The Creator we featured a couple of weeks ago. Trouble On My Mind is probably one of the best hip/hop tracks that have come out this year. With Lil Wayne trying too hard to stay gangsta in his music, new generation hip/hop artists like Push T and Tyler just do it so effortlessly.

[Rap] Pusha T – Trouble On My Mind (Feat. Tyler, The Creator)

“Trouble On My Mind”, the new track by the collaborative efforts of Pusha T and Tyler, The Creator is exactly the kind of genuine gansta rap we need to see more of. A simplistic beat with complex and witty lyricism by both hip/hop artists, showing us that louder and faster doesn’t always translate to more swag. Lil Wayne is set to release his mixtape Sorry for the Wait this Wednesday and yet I feel like Pusha T’s Fear Of God Part 2: Let Us Pray, dropping August 23rd, speaks louder to the new generation of hip/hop fans.
