New York-based rapper, Skizzy Mars, has been garnering a lot of buzz over the last few years with his music. While he would constantly surprise us with quality material from time to time, fans were itching to hear a full body of work from the young emcee. We finally have that project in the form of his new mixtape, Phases, which proves the wait was well worth it. While fans will be delighted to see the return of hits like “Pay for You” (with G-Eazy) and “Douchebag,” it’s the new material we’re all excited about, and Skiz does not disappoint. Phases is the type of project that both fans of hip-hop and pop can enjoy. Skizzy Mars is one of the few artists out there who’s able to effectively combine catchy, flavorful hooks with raw, intelligent lyricism. Picking out standout tracks from the project proved to be a bit difficult, but each one of the chosen few below brings something different to the table.
