Draft Day
It’s been too long since Drake‘s been in the spotlight, so after a few cryptic tweets earlier tonight, the Toronto native decided to drop off a brand new freebie in true Drizzy fashion. Titled “Draft Day,” the playful new single is the first solo effort from Drake this year.
While he’s far from a rookie himself, the OVO leader decides to shoutout a few heralded prospects from the sports world, Johnny Manziel and Andrew Wiggins, while also mentioning one of hip-hop’s rising stars in Chance The Rapper (although he almost seems to be indirectly dissing him). “Draft Day” is really just a fun track overall, but you can tell Drake has a little chip on his shoulder as he kicks some braggadocious bars over a soulful, thumping instrumental. While fans looking for a response to Jay Z‘s recent comments are sure to be somewhat disappointed, Drizzy makes it known that he came to play on this one.
